Dubai: A ‘robotic arm’ has taken centre stage at Dubai’s Hatta Honey Festival as it has been used for the first time to test the purity and quality of honey products displayed at the event.
Dubai Municipality, which is organising the annual event, has released a video showing how the Dubai Central Laboratory (DCL) is using a robotic arm to test the honey products at the ninth edition of the festival.
DCL has introduced the cutting-edge rapid-testing technology to ensure the highest quality of honey products. The enhanced method using advanced PCR (polymerase chain reaction) technology is adopted for testing fungi and yeast.
“This service ensures exhibitors and visitors receive immediate verification of honey quality and adherence to approved standards,” the municipality stated.
Emirati beekeepers are presenting a variety of honey products at the sales kiosks of the Hatta Honey Festival. Residents and visitors can head out to the Hatta Hall until December 31 to explore premium honey products.
